City of Huntingburg – Maple Park Elementary School Demolition

The Situation

Maple Park Elementary School was slated for demolition, but part of the existing structure needed to be preserved for future use.

Our design-build experience with Cooper has shown them to be actively engaged in the design process with the goal of finding solutions to complete work safely, on-time and within budget. These same values have also been demonstrated on construction of projects that were contracted by design-bid-build.

Our Solution

Cooper Contracting removed approximately 20,000 square feet of the school building, and left portions of the building standing for intended future use as office space and recreation. We removed all debris, finished grade to establish positive drainage, and seeded the area to provide a more aesthetic appeal for the adjacent park and recreation area.
